For Father's Day 2013, I received the book, As I Knew Him, by Anne Serling. It is a moving tribute to her father, Rod Serling, whom I greatly admired.
Anne’s book addresses the deep grief she experienced following his death at the young age of 50. The book was the inspiration for this song, named after a classic Twilight Zone episode featuring Gig Young. The song speaks to the grief that all of us experience when we lose someone dear to us, and it offers a perspective that can calm our anxious spirit. I forwarded a copy of the song to Anne, who liked it very much. I hope you will too.

This song was written for a good friend who may launch a non-profit organization to provide free air transport for people who have serious medical issues. The song is about how a helping hand and caring friend can lift our fallen spirit to a place where we can live above our fears. Take a listen, then go pick someone up who has fallen.

Remember the day you were set free when you opened your heart to the love of the Lord? This song is full of that joy and has also been getting some radio play as others have been sharing the fun and excitement of true freedom in Jesus Christ.

Think about all the churches...they are literally everywhere. But do our daily lives really show how we feel about the Lord...7 days a week? What would it take for us to truly show God how grateful we are for all He has done for us? This contemplative song will make you think, and it may just lead you to recommit your heart to the Lord.

I have a friend who has a special little boy nicknamed JJ. He attends a school for autistic children. JJ just loves this song, which expresses the anticipation and excitement that he felt when he received his first very own Bible.

You can be walking through a normal day, when suddenly you start thinking about heaven. That’s the time you want to lace up those flyin’ shoes!

This is the first song that Simeon and I worked on together and continues to be one of my favorites. This traditional gospel song talks about the goldmine that is hidden way down deep in our soul, and we find it when we discover Jesus!
